This was created as part of a 2-day design challenge for ING, where participants had to present a research and design proposal for the procurement team in order to streamline the end-to-end procurement process.
Challenge brief
The bank’s procurement team operates with a process flow that takes up 2 hours a day for each procurement request. This process involves 2 systems where currently, manual input and data extraction is employed for data transfer between these two systems. Due to legacy issues, there’s also no threshold control in place & their team lead is required to approve every single transaction regardless of monetary value. The team believes that there are aspects and points within the process that could be improved that would save time and provide a more seamless flow.
Solution
I designed a dashboard concept to reduce the amount of manual data extraction required by tagging it to an existing user account system. Information submitted by the requestor is reorganised on the procurement team member’s page, where the relevant information can be easily viewed and processed.

— a forecasting tool for foreign currencies held within the treasury
— a centralised database for managing client container assets
— user research to inform the redesign of client metrics for senior management
